    Beiteddine, a small town in the Chouf region of Lebanon, welcomes talented and renowned international artists to its annual festival during the summer months of July and August.

    Every year in July and August. The Festival was interrupted by the civil war in Lebanon (1975-1996) and it resumed its activities in 1997. It held its first season in 1956. It was inaugurated by Jean Cocteau who came to present "La Machine Infernale". The subsequent seasons welcomed renown artists such as Rostropovitch, Richter, Rudolf Noureïev with the Royal Ballet, the Paris and Milan Operas, Maurice Béjart’s Ballet du XXème siècle, the Paul Taylor Dance Company, the Bolchoï Ballet, the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra with Herbert Von Karajan conducting, the Musici di Roma, the Academia Filarmonia Romana, the jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald, Egyptian singer Oum Koulsoum, world premieres were presented: "Prométhée" by Maurice Béjart and Louis Aragon’s "Le Fou d’Elsa"...
